We are so pleased to serve the greater Bemidji, Minnesota, area. All of our staff are Minnesota licensed insurance agents.
Steve Jaranson joined the agency in 1988. He brought to the agency eight years of insurance background with him. He sells business and personal lines including Life and Health. Steve is a Bemidji native where he still lives with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He enjoys fishing and hunting. Steve and Sandy purchased the agency in June of 2016.
Sandy Girtz came to the agency in 1993. She is the financial backbone of the agency. She will help customers find the best coverage for their home and auto.
ABOUT
Northway Insurance Services was started on April 1, 1985, in Bemidji, Minnesota. Steve North started the agency with himself and one employee, Suzy Goltz, representing one insurance company and only one client.
Within a short time, Northway Insurance Services was able to expand its portfolio to include several companies and operate as an independent agency. In 1986, Auto-Owners, a Fortune 500 company, gave Northway Insurance a contract to sell their insurance. Since that date, Northway has grown considerably. In 2001, Northway Insurance was the 4th largest Auto-Owners agency in Minnesota.
Today they continue to rank as one of the top 10 Auto-Owners Independent Insurance Agencies in the state of Minnesota. In 2001 Steve North purchased the Hewitt- Zitzer Insurance Agency in Park Rapids which was later sold.
The agency was purchased from Steve North by Steve Jaranson and Sandy Girtz in June of 2016. Today our agency provides our customers with licensed staff to help them with all their insurance needs.
